How do you use Elimax® shampoo?

STEP 1: Spread the shampoo onto dry hair

Wrap a towel around the shoulders and neck to prevent the product dripping onto skin and clothes. Use the easy applicator to apply Elimax® shampoo directly onto the scalp. Be sure to cover the hair and scalp completely. Massage well from roots to tips, paying particular attention to the area behind the ears and the hairline at the back of the head. Leave the product on for 15 minutes while combing (see step 2). Do not cover the hair .

STEP 2: Comb the hair right after applying Elimax®

Carefully combing the hair with the fi ne-toothed Elimax® lice comb will further increase the success rate of the treatment.

Comb through the hair with an ordinary comb to get rid of the tangles.

Divide the hair into 4 sections: from the forehead to the nape, and from one ear to another.

Next, comb the hair in each section with the fi ne toothed Elimax® lice comb, starting as close as possible to the head. Always comb from the top of the head to the bottom.

Regularly wipe o¢ the comb with a cotton pad to remove collected lice and nits. Comb each lice/nit-free tress over to

the other side.

STEP 3: Wash the hair after 15 minutes (including combing time)

First, apply a little water to the treated hair and work up a lather (foam). Rinse out the foam thoroughly using plenty of water. The product is easier to rinse out with lukewarm water. Take care to ensure that the product does not get into the eyes. There is no need to wash the hair again with regular shampoo.

Dry the hair thoroughly using a towel. Do not use a hair dryer. If the treatment is applied in the evening, make sure the hair is completely dry when going to bed. Check the hair after 7 days. In the majority of cases, a single treatment is su. cient. If lice are still present after 7 days, repeat the treatment.

When should you use Elimax® shampoo?

When you suspect a lice infestation: use Elimax® shampoo. Check the hair after 7 days. If lice are still present after 7 days, repeat the treatment. To protect against (re)infestation: Elimax® shampoo can be used regularly as a preventive measure.

Contraindications

There are no data on use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. In the event of lice infestation during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your GP.

This product is only suitable for head lice (not suitable for pubic or body lice). Not suitable for children under 12 months.

Precautions

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. In the event of a rash or signs of irritation/allergy, stop the treatment and wash your hair with your regular shampoo. Do not use this product if the scalp is already very irritated or damaged.

Several applications may be needed in cases of heavy infestation (> 85 lice/head).

Avoid contact with mouth/eyes (e.g. by covering mouth/eyes with a wash cloth). In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. In case of accidental ingestion or aspiration, contact a doctor or your local anti-poison centre.

Make sure you wash the product out well.

Always leave the treatment on for the full 15 minutes, but no longer.

Do not use the product under occlusion, e.g. by covering the hair with a shower cap or tino fil.

Avoid the product dripping onto the body (neck, shoulders and chest) by wrapping a towel around the shoulders. If the product does come into contact with the skin, be sure to wash it o¢ using soap.

If the treatment is applied in the evening, make sure the hair is completely dry when going to bed.

Keep out of the reach of children.

FLAMMABILITY RISK. Keep treated hair away from fi re, fl ames or hot objects (candles, fi replace, hair dryer, stove,..). Never smoke during use or treatment.

Possible side effects

Elimax® shampoo is well tolerated when used as indicated. In rare cases, the following adverse events may occur:

Skin rash and irritation

Slightly puffy or prickly eyes

Peeling scalp

Composition

Oligodecene oil, foaming agents, LPF® (sesame oil, acrylate copolymer), fragrance.

Storage conditions

Store the product between 5 °C and 25 °C and protect from light.

The following pack sizes are available:

Do not use the product after the expiry date mentioned on the package.
